Wat een ontzettend leuk project was dit!!
Er zullen er zeker nog een aantal volgen :0)
De crazy patch is met de hand gedaan, net als de siersteken eroverheen. Ik heb robuuste steken gedaan met DMC in de kleuren van de stofjes.

The crazy patch has been done by hand, as were the stitches on the top. I've chosen robust stitches in DMC colors matching the fabrics.

Ook weer heel leuk: andere steken in leuke kleurtjes maken :0)
Is de sneeuwman geen poppie?? Zo stond hij ook in de Quiltmania en ik vond dat zo'n leuk, simpel idee!

Isn't the snowman not just the cutest you have ever seen?? He was also in the Quiltmania on this stocking and he just had to be on mine too!

Wat simpele kleine knoopjes erbij, die ook al jaren in het bakje met dingetjes zaten!
Het zigzagband had ik eerder dit jaar bij zuslief gehaald en die paste hier ook weer perfect bij :0) Ik heb het kleurenschema van het voorbeeld in de Quiltmania helemaal aangehouden, voor de verandering, want ze zijn precies wat ik mooi vind!

A few little buttons on top, which have been for years in my container of "little stuff".
The rickrack I had purchased earlier this year at my sister's and it suited perfect :0) I did follow the colorscheme of the pattern, for a change, because the colors are exactly what i like!

En een paar boompjes kunnen natuurlijk niet ontbreken ;0)

Het is nu zonnig, dus ik ga gauw verder met het quilten van de scheve huisjes...dat lukt niet meer bij lamplicht, vooral niet met dat donkerblauwe garen!

It is Sunny now, so I am off to continue quilting the houses...that's not possible anymore with lamplight, especially with the dark blue yarn!

Zere vingers!

Soar fingers!

Kijk, ik was van plan te gaan quilten, lieve poes...Dit is dus in een tijdsbestek van enkele seconden! Ik had de top opgevouwen neergelegd, ring erop en draai me om om een naald te pakken...en als je je dan weer omdraait, dan zie je dit: een tevreden snorrende, heul onschuldige poes ;0)
Ik heb haar gewoon opzij gezet!

See, I was going to do some quilting, sweet Kitty...this happened in mere seconds! I had put the top there, put on my ring and turned around to grab my needle...when I turned back I saw this: a very cosy, snoring cat, looking very innocent ;0)
I just shoved her over!

Maar, hier komt dus ook de titel meteen bij kijken...want oh, wat doen mijn vingers pijn!
Het zijn al die naadjes, waar je op sommige plekken gewoon nauwelijks doorheen komt. Daar had deze quiltster zich toch even danig op verkeken haha!
Ik had al besloten om hem te quilten met een enkele, dikkere draad. Donkerblauw. Grotere, sterkere naald. In de ring.
Ik moet alleen elk steekje...steekje voor steekje maken: omlaag, overpakken, omhoog...Ik raak er bijna van in trance :0)
Het gaat wel lekker snel en het effect is precies wat ik voor ogen had: een beetje onregelmatige, robuuste steken.
Zodra dit klaar is, ga ik ( na heel goed nagevoeld te hebben waar het kan!) nog meer details quilten met een gewone kleine naald en quiltgaren :0)

But, and this what the title is about...because I now have quit soar fingers!
It is from all of those little seams, in some places I can hardly pull my needle through. I did not think that over haha!
I had already decided that I would quilt this one whit a single, thicker thread. Dark blue. Larger, stronger needle. In the ring.
It is only that I have to make each stitch...stitch by stitch: down, take needle in other hand, up again...I am almost in trance :0)
It does go quit fast and the effect is exactly what I had invisioned: a bit irregular, rough stitches.
When I have finished this part I am planning on doing some traditional quilting on a few details ( only after thorough investigation where that is possible though!)

Het is nog niet zo duidelijk te zien, want ik bedacht natuurlijk bij schemering dat ik deze foto's wilde maken ;)

It is not so visible yet, but that is because I thought of making these pictures at twilight of course ;)
